FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training

Florida State University/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, located in Sarasota, Florida, is a three-year graduate program culminating in a Master of Fine Arts degree through the Florida State University School of Theatre. Considered to be one of America’s leading acting schools, the Conservatory trains actors of the highest caliber in a professional theatre environment through classroom work and production experience. The program has been recognized in The New York Times, U.S. News, World Report, and The Princeton Review through their national rankings and articles about top graduate level training programs.

Every Florida State University/Asolo Conservatory MFA candidate receives a full tuition waiver from Florida State University, and an assistantship to help defray living expenses, supported by Asolo Scholarship donors. The Asolo Repertory Theatre and Florida State University together fund the second year students study in London. Every student graduates with Equity eligibility, through work with the Asolo Repertory Theatre, as understudies in their first year, and as associate members of the acting company in their third year.

Annually, the Conservatory auditions over 1,000 actors in four locations nationwide from which a maximum of 12 students are chosen.
