The School of Theatre at Florida State will hold General Auditions on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 10:00 am until approximately 5:00 pm (or until the last appointment is made) in The Fine Arts Annex on the corner of Copeland and Call Streets. Audition Appointments will be scheduled on a first come first serve basis beginning December 7.

You may make an audition appointment by emailing:

Once your audition request has been received, we will reply back to you with an appointment confirmation and additional details.

Each auditionee has 90 seconds in which to perform two contrasting monologues. For this spring audition, auditionees are strongly encouraged to prepare 1 Shakespeare/classical text and 1 modern/contemporary monologue.

Auditions are open to the public and you do not have to be a current FSU student to participate. If you have further questions, please send an e-mail request to, and a confirmation e-mail will be returned. Unfortunately, we cannot accept phone requests.

Please arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled audition time to check in and complete the necessary paperwork.

We are seeking 2 boys between the ages of 8-12 to be in the FSU production of Marie Antoinette to play alternate performances from April 3-11. The play contains adult language and situations and boys who audition need to be comfortable with participating in safe stage violence (including being picked up and carried and being pushed to the ground).

Children’s auditions for this production will be held on Monday, January 13, 2020 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm in the Fine Arts Annex on the corner of Copeland and Call Streets. Audition appointments will be scheduled in 10 minute increments. Auditionees are asked to prepare a monologue or tell a story that is no more than two minutes long. You may make an audition appointment by emailing:

Schedule Information: Rehearsals will be scheduled Sunday-Friday starting February 2 between 7:00-9:00 pm. Tech rehearsals (beginning Friday March 27) and evening performances will go later into the evening (possibly as late as 11:00 pm).
