Dallas Pollei Selected for the Kennedy Center Directing Intensive

Published June 21, 2018

Each year, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. offers an eight-day, directing intensive that “provides the participants with the opportunity to observe and work with a professional director as they guide a development based rehearsal room, and the chance to meet one on one with the director to discuss the rehearsal process, and the participants own work.” This summer, the School of Theatre’s Dallas Pollei has been selected as one of five applicants to attend this program.

Dallas Pollei is a second year MFA Directing candidate from Roswell, NM. Last season, he served as the Assistant Director for Guys and Dolls and The Addams Family. Before attending FSU, Dallas was a tenured professor of Theatre and Humanities at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell Campus where he directed two shows a year for the past decade with an emphasis in musicals. While at the Kennedy Center, Dallas will be in the rehearsal room as an assistant on the development process of a new play. He is “super excited to grow in a whole new aspect of directing and is [ecstatic] for this opportunity to work on new and developing plays with the playwrights.” To see more of his work, click here.
