Gordon Michael Schwinn is a frustrated children’s television composer who is sick and tired of writing songs for a dancing frog. He begins to contemplate why he is continuously sacrificing his artistic integrity to pay the bills. That is, until a surprise medical diagnosis forces Gordon to confront the reality of his life and his songs left unwritten. This lively and vigorous musical is based on the life of its composer William Finn, what it might look like to have a second chance, and the healing power of music.

A Note from the Dramaturg: A New Brain!

AVMs may seem like an obscure topic for a musical (only about one percent of people experience them),  but not for A New Brain’s composer, William Finn.
