School of Theatre Alum Gena Heylock Featured on Chicago Med on NBC

Gena Heylock (’21)

2021 Music Theatre graduate Gena Heylock appeared on the January 12th, 2022 episode of NBC’s series Chicago Med. She portrayed Nadia Popovic, a patient in the care of doctors played by Kristen Hager (Being Human) and stage and screen veteran Oliver Platt (The West Wing).

Heylock’s character suffers complications from back-alley plastic surgery. The episode “The Things We Thought We Left Behind” (season 7, episode 11) is available to stream on Hulu and other platforms. 

While at FSU, Gena’s notable roles included the lead in Marie Antoinette and Amber in the musical Hairspray. Since graduating, she performed in repertory at Woodstock Theatre in upstate New York.
