The Ruby Sunrise

During the 1920s at a barn in Indiana, a tomboy named Ruby electrifies her new invention: the television. At a New York film studio in the 1950s, a screenwriter named Lulu challenges studio executives to take a stand. During the dawn and golden age of television, both women defy convention and broadcast hard questions about the ways people make and tell history.

Welcome to the Renaissance, where a leather-clad wordsmith with swiveling hips named Shakespeare is rocking London! Meanwhile, down-on-their-luck playwrights Nick and Nigel Bottom can’t summon a single sonnet. Then, when Nostradamus himself foretells “the future of theatre”, the Bottom brothers hatch a plan to rise to the top. Hilarity ensues in this campy lampoon of England’s first-ever musical.
