Faith Northcutt (Music Theatre ‘21) On Tour with Hairspray

2021 Music Theatre graduate Faith Northcutt is on the road with the national tour of the musical Hairspray as Brenda, one of “the nicest kids in town”, and understudying for the lead role of Tracy Turnblad. She made her debut as Tracy at a performance on January 19, 2022.

Since graduating from FSU, and before being cast in the Hairspray tour in October 2021, she played Maggie in A Chorus Line at the Wick Theatre in Boca Raton, FL and Jan in Grease at Music Theatre Wichita. According to Faith’s website, performance is as much a passion as it is a career path: 

When I perform, I feel awake and alive to the world; I think that, for a lot of us, it is really easy to lose that in the stress of the day to day. I pursue acting and performance to make sure that everyone can find that feeling again and can experience the joy and the awakening that comes with sharing our stories.

The cast of Hairspray also features Andrew Levitt, also known by the drag name Nina West, of RuPaul’s Drag Race fame in the role of Edna Turnblad. For tour dates and information, visit hairspraytour.com.
