Jay & Dr. Sue Newman Award in Theatre Studies 2025 Presentation

Join the College of Fine Arts and The School of Theatre at Florida State Wednesday, March 26 at 5:30pm for the introduction of winner of the Jay & Dr. Sue Newman Award in Theatre Studies!
The winner is Elaine Hendriks Smith for her paper, "Expanding Expressionism." Elaine’s work delves into how German theatrical Expressionism rebelled against realism and embraced affects in their theatrical reaction to anxieties around industrialization, World War I, and the Inter-War period (which included a pandemic and depression).
