Climb aboard the Number 5 bus with young CJ and his force-of-nature Nana as they travel through Nana’s urban Chicago neighborhood in this hip-hoppin’ musical joy ride based off the children’s book of the same name.
When his parents leave him with his Nana for a four day visit, CJ is challenged with new experiences unlike those at home. Meeting unlikely friends and seeing the world through a different lens, CJ learns about the boisterous world that exists outside his bubble.
Based on the book by Matt de la Peña and Christian Robinson, West’s adaptation pulls the hoppin’ music of Lamont Dozier and Paris Dozier into a moving musical.

Group discounts are available for groups of 10+ with a $2.00 discount off of the regular adult rate. No additional discount is available on already discounted prices.
School groups can receive all tickets, including chaperones, at the Student discount rate.
TICKETS REQUIRING ID (i.e. Student, FSU Employee, Military, Educator, etc) are required to present their valid ID at the event when the ticket is scanned. If the valid ID is not presented the customer will be required to upgrade the ticket to the full price and pay the difference at the Ticket Office prior to gaining access into the event.
