Jenna Gerdsen is a postdoctoral scholar in the School of Theatre, Florida State University. Her research draws from theatre history, Asian American and Indigenous studies and examines how racial and ethnic identities in Hawaii are constructed and negotiated through dramatic literature and play production. She has presented research at conferences such as the Association for Theatre in Higher Education, American Society for Theatre Research, Performance Studies International, Comparative Drama Conference and Pacific Ancient and Modern Language Association. Her work has been published in Theatre Journal, Theatre Topics, Journal of American Drama and Theatre and HowlRound. Forthcoming work will be published in the Encyclopedia of Modern Theatre and an anthology called “Learning Anti-Racism Through the Arts.”
