FSU Alums Danielle Trzcinski (BA Theatre ’07) and Emily Susanne Franklin (BM Music Theatre ‘08) will be featured in the upcoming world premiere of Dance Divas Nutcracker, a new musical based on the New York Times best-selling author Sheryl Berk’s popular book series, “Dance Divas”. This holiday musical made its world premiere on December 13th at The Lion Theatre in Theatre Row, right in the heart of Manhattan. Dance Divas Nutcracker features a book by Sheryl Berk, music by Rachel Griffin and lyrics by Danielle Trzcinski.
“Dance Divas Nutcracker follows a group of passionate young dancers in pursuit of their dreams. When a famous ballet academy is looking for ballerinas to star in their annual holiday production of The Nutcracker, Scarlett thinks she will be a shoe-in for the lead role of Clara. But it’s actually her little sister Gracie, with her big smile and bubbly energy, that catches the directors eye. The dancers learn that teamwork and friendship can get you through anything, along with a little holiday magic!”
The cast includes Elliana Walmsley (“Dance Moms”), Clara Young (Dr. Seuss’ The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, My Life as a Zucchini), Cassidy Hagel (Matilda, Billy Elliot), Devin Trey Campbell (Kinky Boots), and School of Theater alum, Emily Susanne Franklin.
