School of Theatre Announces Summer Music Theatre Intensive

Published December 4, 2015

The School of Theatre at Florida State University is excited to announce our new Summer Music Theatre Intensive.  The Summer Music Theatre Intensive is a summer workshop for high school students entering their junior or senior year who are pursuing music theatre at the collegiate level. The Intensive takes place over a three-week period culminating in a final cabaret that is open to the public.  The Summer Music Theatre Intensive runs from July 10-31, 2016 and is held on the campus of Florida State University.

The program welcomes students of varying training and skill levels, however, it is not a typical summer camp.  MTI is an intense program designed for high school students that intend to pursue a degree or career in music theatre.  The faculty for the Summer Music Theatre Intensive will include the Program Heads for the Music Theatre and Acting programs, distinguished faculty from the School of Theatre, and accomplished alumni.

The School of Theatre at Florida State University is consistently recognized as one of the finest theatre programs in the nation.  Recently named by Playbill as one of the “top ten colleges currently represented by alums in Broadway productions,” eighteen FSU alums are in or will be in shows on Broadway this season.
