“The Cher Show” Opens on Broadway Featuring Alum Michael Fatica

The newest hit musical, The Cher Show, made its Broadway debut December 3rd after a month long run in Chicago this past June. Included in the production’s star-studded cast is School of Theatre alumnus Michael Fatica (BFA Music Theatre ‘11), featured in the ensemble, as well as understudying for the role of Sonny Bono. Fatica is no stranger to the Broadway stage. After graduating from Florida State University, he made his Broadway debut in Newsies. Since then, Fatica has been seen in national tours of Matilda, Beauty and the Beast (Lefou), and Cats. Most recently, he played the featured role of The Chubby Man in Groundhog Day: The Musical. The Cher Show is a biographical musical following the story of the iconic singer and actress, Cher, at three different stages in her life and career. Featuring her beloved, chart-topping hits, The Cher Show will feature a book by Rick Elice (Tony Award-winning best musical Jersey Boys), direction by Jason Moore (Tony Award-winning best musical Avenue Q), choreography by Tony Award-winner Christopher Gattelli (Newsies), and orchestrations, arrangements, and musical supervision by Tony Award-winner Daryl Waters (Memphis).
