Treplev is in love with Nina. Nina is in love with Trigorin, who is in a relationship with Arkadina. Masha loves Treplev, and Medvedenko loves Masha. Writers, actors, working class. Unhappy people, romantic entanglements, destructive relationships. By a beautiful lake on an estate in the Russian countryside, the seagull, at first free is soon destroyed. Chekhov’s classic drama is “life itself onstage…”
